  4. Hi, I spoke with you at the women’s resource centre fundraiser about the teen group I am co-facilitating through Haven Society and was wondering if I could email you around inquiry of having you come perform ‘girl rant’ to these amazing young women!
I hope to hear from you soon, I am very empowered by local artists addressing gender oppression.

    Kaila

  6. Hey Kendall, I have recently heard about you actually from Jessica Benini last night. I hope you don’t think this was too presumptuous but I sent the following email to the “Because I am a Girl” folks… I don’t know if it will go anywhere but I think a relationship there could be good for both of you 🙂

    Love your music! Robin

Here is the note I sent…

Subject: The Girl Rant / Because I am a girl

Hi my name is Robin Kirkpatrick and I would like to pass along a link to a tremendous young talent that quite honestly could be one of Because I am a girl poster girls. Please check out her website and specifically listen to her song “The Girl Rant” – while not addressing all of the issues Plan Canada is looking at it is a very compelling message and Kendall and Plan Canada need to connect.

Please note I do not know Kendall, never met her actually,(hope to tonight) but I will be posting this note on her blog today!

    Many thanks,

    Robin

ps. Also read about Operation Empowerment on her webpage… Alway good to link like minded souls!

    • Wow Robin, thank you so much!
It would be an honour to participate in any way I can. There is nothing more rewarding than the media literacy material that I cover in my music because it connects girls in such a personal and profound way and I only hope I can be of some positive influence. I just got this message so I wish I could have chatted with you at the show. Feel free to message me anytime!
      Sincerely,
      Kendall Patrick

  7. I thought you were fantastic at Centennial Square, Victoria today. Very lively, great voice and meaniful lyrics. I’ll check you out on U-tube and spend my afternoon work appreciating your talents further. Nearly, as great a new fan as your best new friend at the back today. Hope you have a great summer and get your life started as you said in your last song :). Thanks.

    • Wow thank you Douglas! Yep you can find me on youtube, myspace, cdbaby, facebook. Anywhere. The music is really accessible. If you want to be on the mailing list just let me know. Thank you for your kind words. I hope you are enjoying your summer too!

  11. Kendall: Really enjoyed tonight at Transfer Beach. I would like to find the lyrics for the last song you did tonight.
Was it the In between years? Whatever, I have never heard a better song, with vivid imagery and pain about the horrible middle years, teen years, where you’re not a child anymore, starting to live an adult life, but not allowed to call yourself that.
You really captured the pain of it all. The best I’ve heard in a long time.
I think there’s a movie script there and would like to talk to you more about this; especially about the follow up to the song: Years later how do you feel about those feelings, hopes, and dreams now?
This is not Hollywood calling. I am a retired Ladysmith resident who writes including screen plays. I do have a media background in radio and TV. I know a lot about business in general especially advertising and marketing and the movie biz in particular. Movies have always been a passion of mine even though I was never directly involved.
With this idea I have about your song, if I don’t get involved directly—you might have “your own people’ working on this—I could, maybe give you some advice. I also did work in the music business a million years ago when Noah was getting an 8 track for the arc. If I don’t know the people any more, maybe I could point you in a positive direction with some good feedback.
Gordon Lightfoot once said of me: Glen who? The Pope and Stephen Harper have said the same thing, but it has never stopped me.
    You guys were all great.
